Improving South Africa's Healthcare Infrastructure

Infrastructure Unit Systems Support (IUSS) is a structured collaboration between the National Department of Health, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and other stakeholders with the shared objective of optimising the acquisition and management of South Africa’s public healthcare infrastructure throughout the infrastructure’s lifecycle. Put simply we want to make better clinics, community health centres and hospitals. You can help us to do this. Until March 2015, IUSS a series of enabling tools and processes was developed. Chief among these are an updated set of healthcare building guidelines, norms & standards and infrastructure cost models.
